More and more people have nothing better to do then learn how to cheat and steal

since you have a remote to your vehicle, that equals something similar to a wireless router

as such...yes, in theory someone can "hack" you system

However, that being said, I have not seen of or heard of any such security breech yet

BTW...what type of concern do you have that has lead you to this belief?

The central lock system won't exactly lock the fuel "cap" but it does have an actuator that extends to prevent the fuel door from opening when the doors are locked. Easy to test, as long as that's working then you're lucky enough to not have to bother with a locking gas cap & more keys!

Hatchback won't lock on saab 9-3

I had the very same problem with my 2002 Saab 9-3 after I manually moved the trunk latch to the locked position "out of curiosity..." Then I noticed there is a handle you can pull to release latch opening it up! Very simple remedy... It is a glow in the dark green plastic handle hanging down when the trunk/hatch is open dead center, just in slightly behind latch... Gently pull handle until you hear and see the latch click into the open position...Let me know how You make out. BTW: Toyota Camry has the same set up,same color as well...lol Good Luck!

Central locking not working on one door

this sounds like the central locking mechanisum in the door needs replacing, or the bar that connects it to the lock has come addrift, remove the door panel and see if it has if not then it will proberbly need replacing as they are not all on the same system only the fuse and relay is, each locking mechanisum is seperate hope this helps

Key thob has stopped working, I have changed the battery but still broke, I am looking for the fuse for the central locking but cannot find it, saab 9-3 linear 2003

Saab's have very specific steps that you must follow when you change the batteries in your key fob. You might try these steps to re-sync your key fob to your security system....

If the battery has been changed outside the
car and the car is locked, proceed as follows:
1 Unlock the front left door with the traditional
key. If the car has a car alarm, this
will be tripped.
2 Open the door and insert the remote
control into the ignition switch. If the car
has a car alarm, this will be silenced.
The remote control and receiver unit are
now synchronized.

Most likely you have a bad TWICE unit. it is located under the driver's seat, at a low point in the floor and often gets wet.
