How to install dec heater control valve

MY 04 Lincoln LS is blowing hot air from the AC, the dealer ship sold me a lemon warranty(i was told it covers everything but covers nothing ), vehicle has only 55,555 miles - I was told it I need a "DEC heater control valve"costs over $600 from dealership. How do I i locate the valve on the car and how much should this really cost ? Thank you in advance !!

First- only my personal opinion, although I just read an article about all types of product insurance & warrantees.
You really don't need any type of warrantee, on any product
If it is new,it should be good for a while
It it is used, you already got a discount, don't give some of that back.

Not to be hurtful, but a car dealer, is not in the vehicle business. They are in marketing and sales. The vehicles are the financial instuments they peddle.
If you really read your warrantee and asked the correct questions, they would politely escort you out the door. I"ve been there.

I own the same 2004LS V8 and have all the service manuals

You would need to know the correct name of the part and a call to the dealer parts dept, they would get you the price. I could do that for you,if I knew what was really happening with the vehicle. $600..00 is a lot, but that's what they charge.

What I see is called-Dual Coolant Control Valve
It is fastened to the pass side of the radiator/fan shroud with one screw.
It has two heater hoses and one electrical connector going to it.
You will see it under the A/C drier.

Not a fun job,but you could replace yourself.

Check the heater control valve. And verify if there's hot air w/o A/C (fresh air with heat setting to cold)

2005 Lincoln LS. It blows extremely hot air all the time, and is unresponsive to temperature inputs from either side of the car. It always blows hot air.

There is a very good chance the Dual Coolant Control Valve has failed. This is located at the botton right side of the engine fan shroud and has 3 heater hoses connected to it. This valve controls heater or AC temperature inside the car.

My 2005 Lincoln LS V6 has a message that says srvc P

The message means the electric park brake needs serviced. In this case I feel that considering the ac problem, the Coolant Control Valve is defective. The valve can create RF interference that messes with the electronics of the park brake system. The Coolant Control Valve is located at the right side bottom of the radiator fan shroud and has 3 heater hoses connected to it.

Cold air on the Driver side warm air on thepassenger side

You probably need to replace your dual climate control valve (aka Heater valve) This regulates how much hot coolant each heater core gets. When it malfunctions it either doesn't turn on or doesn't turn off. So either you get limited or no heat on one side (or both sides) or you get warm air when your ac is on, usually out of one side and not the other. Mine went out at 50-60K and I had hot air blowing on my feet in 90deg weather. If you are not under warrant I would recommend purchasing one yourself and taking to a trustworty mechanic. It only takes about 45 min to replace but the dealer will charge you several hundered for the unit plus several hours of labor. Rockauto sells them for about 170, I managed to find mine online a couple years ago for 115.
Good luck

Lincoln lse 2005 ac blowing hot air on left side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your LS is blowing hot air on one side of the dash and cold on the other the problem most likely is the Dual Coolant Control Valve. The DCCV is used to control cabin temperature. This valve is mounted down low on the passenger side of the radiator fan shroud, and has 3 coolant hoses connected to it. This valve if found to be faulty will need to be replaced to correct the condition.

Parking brake

05 LS, i also have the same problem, heater blowing hot and parking brake light coming on. i just read that the malfunction from the (dual coil water control valve) will cause a spike in the system an will set off the parking brake light. The dealer wanted $645 w/tax to install a new water control valve Ford Part # 2R8Z18495AA, YEAH RIGHT !!!! I found the part on line for $110 w/shipping, i am going to install my self. Its sits behind the radiator passenger side about 6" deep from the fender. very easy to get to , one bolt, one sensor needs detached and the 3 heater hoses that go to it need clamped off before replacing it. As far as the brake light i read that you have to get the brake re-calibrated by the dealer, I dont know yet. If you want the web address for the part let me know. i also posted where to find your code for your door access on a 05 LS. dupd120@yahoo.com
