They plug in on the side of the tranny. But the solenoid control valves module is inside the tranny just above the filter in the oilpan. ? for you is the speedo working properly. You also have a speed control sensor on top of your rear differential. It affect shifting and your speedo

Will not shift out of 2nd gear

Tranny most likely shot. I believe yours is a T-5, I had the same issue years back but in 3rd gear. Usually the clutch going out is a gradual thing. So I would have a tranny shop look at it. Maybe find a cheap rebuilt tranny for ya.Look online or a trusted shop.

Hi I have a 99 intrepid. It wont shift out of 2nd gear. Replaced the tranny and it is still stuck in 2nd gear

The tranny was not the problem but a shift solenoid might be . Run a fault code check .

My 94 z71 4x4 wount shift into 2nd gear or overdrive

anyone is going to need far more information, like what tranny is in it what motor is in it, what happened the last time it worked, have you checked your transmission fluid with the engine running and at operating temperature?, (YES IT MATTERS IF ITS RUNNING OR NOT AND YES TEMP MATTERS)

1994 gmc Z71 4x4 automatic.****** will not shift out of 2nd gear. What's up?

Shift modulator on the transmission may be bad, or clogged filter. Maybe time to changed oil and filter. Also a simple adjustment on the trans kickdown cable, or a new cable. The cable can stretch enough to cause a shifting problem.

Transmission wont shift out 1st gear...

A common problem for the isuzu. You will be real lucky to get it going again by just adding fluid, but I think one of the shift solenoids is bad or you have a ground not working somewhere. You can get the solenoids out without removing the tranny, but you might be wasting your time doing that. If you choose to change the filter and the 5 or 6 qts fluid, you might as well change the 1st -2nd shift solenoid while you are in there. No guarantees, but this would be the cheapest way to go. A tranny shop will charge you $1100 no matter what. Hope this helps.

Tranny slips & wont shift past 2nd gear

Ok, you will need to first check the fluid level in this transmission. if the trans is sealed, you will need to take to the dealer for a fluid check. assuming that the fluid level is proper, this will usually be caused by a faulty transmission control module and faulty shift solenoids as well. these devices are located on and inside the trans and i recommend testing each device for flaws.

Most slips are the result of gear ware but, the solenoids and TCM will cuse this issue as well.

1995 cadilac deville has problem shifting from 1 to 2 gear

You don't have torque converter shudder. You don't even mention that in your original post! You def had a solenoid issue. My 94 STS did the same thing. I only had reverse, 1st and 2nd gear. Wouldn't shift outa 2nd period. It was a $200 solenoid repair. Car had a 160K on it when that happened. I have almost 170k on it now. Shifts and works fine. you don't need the tranny replaces ad josavv63 indicates.
