Question about Nissan Quest

1 Answer

I have a 1997 nissan Quest the ac and heater blower motor is blowing fine the speed control works fine the problem is I cant chose which vent the air comes out unless I move the rod located on the side of air carrier on the bottom of the console on the drvers side of at the feet level. This rod is supposed to be pushed by what looks like a selenoid with about 10 wires hooked to it coming from the climite controle in the dash. as i said the blower motor works fine I justb dont know how to use the multimeter to check the wires from the seleniod. Or what the name of the selenoid is in order to get get it at the parts store. I hope i have been clear enough about this because it is a pain to operae the air by laying in the floof boad and selecting the level i want the air to come out

It is most likely the actuator motor, this is the electronic part you are describing, this part is most likely only available threw the dealer on your vehicle, they are just a motor, and they go out from time to time.voltage can be checked at the motor,12 volts supply the wires for the actuator motor to move.

Ac/heater works but doesn't blow air at any speed

Yes. It could be your motor. If there is voltage or your hear the motor running then it could be a vent door not working. There is also the switch and a blower motor resistor that you can check. Hope this helps.

Blower speed question (ac/heater). This just

This is definitely 100% the Blower Motor Resistor.
Replace this and all speeds will work fine.
This Resistor is defined with 3 to 4 wires going into it, and is located adjacent to the Blower Motor.
It is easily access, removed and replaced.
I will post an additional comment on Part Number, Price and where available.

Heater\AC no air in front 05 suburban

ase mechanic:

Sounds like a problem with the front blower motor. there is a blower motor resistor for the front blower motor that controls the speed of the blower and tends to go bad or fry out the blower motor. thats the most likely scenerio since you stated the control head was lighting up and responded to button changes.
