Hi there;

Your looking foer the oil pressure sensor on the 2004 8.1L.
You will find it located directly behind the EGR valve threaded into the block just to the drivers side of the center bolt for the transmission to block connection.

SOURCE: cabin filter location mercury mountaineer

There is one for the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. If you are smellign a "vinegar" odor, mix a solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water and pour it down the grid at the base of the windshield. It will take care of the smell.

No oil pressure

either replace oil sending unit or get a manual oil pressure gauge and screw in to oil sending unit port and visually check with engine running to see if or what the actual pressure is. If 0 pressure registers then bad oil pump. but if good pressure, then you have a bad oil sending unit. also change oil filter.

Where is the oil sending unit located

This is for a 98 but probably will be the same Front drivers side of the engine. Behind the alternator. Hard to see and get to. It has a white plug with one wire. Fords oil pressure sending units are not real sending units. Your oil pressure gauge is a glorified idiot light. Its either on or off, always in the middle

Wher is the fuel filter located on a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer and how do you change it?

Mercury Mountaineer fuel filter is located in front and on top of fuel tank behind two shields. . When you look just behind the front passenger side tire you will see the first shield. Behind that is the second. U will need to buy the fuel line release tools to get the lines off the filter, any good auto parts store will have these.
