You could have a problem with either the headlamp or dash dimmer switch but test all the fuses first.

I just installed the right head light on a 2000 f250. I'm trying to find the specifications on distance and height of the light beams, L &R when adjusting the lights.

Headlamp Adjustment —Screen Method Aiming NOTE: Horizontal aim is not necessary for this vehicle and is not adjustable.
NOTE: Consult your state's vehicle inspection manual for recommended tolerance ranges for visual aiming.
  1. NOTE: The sight shield may need to be positioned or removed for access to the adjusters.
    Before starting headlamp assembly adjustment:
    • Check the tire inflation.
    • Check that no other load is in the vehicle other than a half tank of gas.
    • Check that the headlamps are clean.
    • Check for correct headlamp operation.
    • Check that the vehicle is on level ground.
    • If the vehicle is equipped with air suspension, make sure the switch is on.
    • NOTE: The vertical wall or screen must be a minimum of 2.4 meters (8 feet) wide.
  2. Park the vehicle on a level surface approximately 7.6 meters (25 feet) from the vertical wall or screen directly in front of it.
  3. e4d4fd8.gif
NOTE: The center of the lamp is marked by a 3 mm (0.12 in) circle on the headlamp lens.
Mark a horizontal reference line on the vertical wall or screen.
    1. Measure the center of the headlamp height to ground and record.
    1. Make a 2.4 meters (8 feet) horizontal mark (masking tape) on the vertical wall or screen at the same distance from the ground as previously recorded.

  1. NOTE: This procedure should be done in a dark environment to effectively see the headlamp beam pattern.
Turn on the low beam headlamps to illuminate the wall or screen and open the hood.
  1. NOTE: The appearance of the beam pattern may vary between vehicles.
On the wall or screen, locate the high intensity area of the beam pattern.

7ced4e6.gif NOTE: The appearance of the beam pattern may vary between vehicles.
Identify at the top edge of this high intensity area a distinct horizontal cutoff in the beam pattern. If the top edge of this cutoff is not even with the horizontal reference line, the headlamp beam will need to be adjusted.

How to aim the headlamps on a 1999 Cadillac Catera?

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

Leveling light comes on and blinks

The leveling light is when the catera is trying to adjust it's back end based on weight, so whenever the light comes on you need to park your car and wait until it turns off. If it begins to blink do the same thing. If it doesn't go off in 5 min then go get it checked out by a mechanic, because something could be broken. It is in the manual if this does not make sense.

How to adjust headlights on 2006 chevy cobalt

There will be adjustment screws located on at least two different spots surrounding each headlamp. By turning these screws you move the angle of the headlamp. Most shops will do this at a very resonable rate, I say this because improper headlamp angle may lead to a ticket, or at least a warning. To say the least, they have to be at specific angles and heights. Good luck.
