I am trying to replace the timing belt on my 1994 Mitsubishi

Hi. I am trying to replace the Engine Timing Belt on my 1994 Mitsubishi Montero SR 3500 US version (I heard but not sure)VIN# JA4MR51M5RJ009994. The instruction sheet that comes with the belt does not provide enough information, and the camsahft sprockets have to many marks. I am confused. Do you have the procedure explaining which marcks are to be used and everything else envolved on this job to get it done right? Thank you kindly. Paul

ENGINE OVER HEATING REPLACED THERMOSTAT,CANT FIND WATER PUMP MITSUBISHI MONTERO 2001

Your water pump is driven by the timing belt; to access you will need to remove the forward portion of the engine (pumps/alternator/belts and such) when replacing the water pump you wll need to remove and then replace the timing belt and tensioner. Much care is needed to to insure the proper timing or things can go very bad. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the easiest) I'd give this a 6.5 to 7.

I hope this may have assisted you,
Tom

Instructions for changing our the Crankshaft

On this model you have to follow the directions as if you are changing the timing belt. Within this process, you will actually take out and replace the crankshaft position sensor. You can go to your public library and get the information to change out the timing belt.

How do you install a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero SR waterpump

Hi,
Petrol or diesel.
If its a petrol you will have to take out some bits/pieces fro the front side of the engine, all the rimms off, to work easyer remove the radiator as it is not that hard and soo on. I will recomend to do the timing belt as well as it is half way trought and will safe some money.

Does my 2001 mitsubishi montero sports 3.5v6 needs timing belt replacement?

t belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles,if your montero has 120,000 miles or more,I recommend replacing the tensioner also, remember that you have to remove all of the front of engine cover,so it would be a good time to maybe replaced the engine seals and drive belts since everything is taken off at this time
