You may have a small leak somewhere in the system which would make the compressor come on more. I would spary some water and dish washing liquid around the air bag/shock, and check for any bubbles.

If the compressor was going out it would not work. What the dealership does is get the codes from the Rear Integration Module(RIM).This will lead them in the direction of the problem. What you can do is check it for leaks.Just use some soapy water and spray the air lines and see if they are leaking. If you find a leak then you can just use rubber hose to repair any breaks. The other thing is on the left side control arm check the height sensor rod and make sure it did not come off.If you don`t find any leaks or the rod off then you might have to take it to a repair shop and have it looked at.Hope this helps.Good luck.

My 2010 Ford Escape XLT air conditioning is not blowing cold air. I can hear the compressor kicking on but the blower is not coming on.

Check the pressures. To listen to the compressor, have someone sit in the vehicle, open the hood and listen by the belt area for a click while someone turns the a/c on in the vehicle. The compressor clutch will make a loud click which can be easily heard when it engages to turn the compressor on. You should have your low and high side pressures checked by a professional since the majority of AC system failures are due to leaks. If you have low pressures while the system is running, then most likely you have a leak. If you do need to replace your ac compressor this site looks like it has cheap prices, free shipping and great reviews http://www.buyautoparts.com/ac-compressor/

If the AC compressor is kicking in and out then you are probably low on freon. If the Compressor isn't kicking in at all then the problem could be a fuse or relay in the Power distribution box or the fuse in the interior of the car. If the fuse and relays are good then the problem could be a bad clutch on the compressor or a bad compressor itself. If the compressor is kicking in and out then get a freon refill can from Walmart or an Auto parts store and add freon to the system until the compressor kicks in continuously.

What does a BELT DRIVE CLIMATE COMPRESSOR do for a 528i bmw 1997

It has to be referring to the compressor for the air conditioner, but that is a very unusual name for it.
On a '97 318, there will often be a loud chatter when the compressor kicks on that is sometimes misdiagnosed as a failing compressor. In reality, most times it is the tensioner pulley on the belt.

I have a 2000 lincoln navigator, the compressor is continously kicking on also its real loud when it does kick on,possibly the rubber gromets to keep the compressor from vibrating dry rotted causing loud...

check the mounts and also have the pressure checked with some ac gauges. if a system is over charged the compressor will cycle on and off constantly and can cause a knocking sound.

When my compressor kicks on it makes a loud noise but my ac is cold and blows good?

Could be bearing starting to go bad in your AC compressor. Keep an eye on it, so it doesn't totally trash belt when it finally lets go. Consider replacing AC compressor and in near future

The airconditioner on my 2002 cadillac seville sometimes works but most of the time it doesnt. when it does it blows cold air. what could it be

There could be a blockage in a screen called an orifice tube in the liquid refrigerant line. The refrigerant may not be circulating properly and this can cause a pressure out of range (too high) which can kick off the compressor until the pressure is no longer out of range. Another possiblity is the compressor is nearing the end of its life and gets too "hot" and kicks off. I have seen some that would "smoke" from the clutch failing before any thermal limits would kick off the compressor, so I sort of doubt that's the issue. Another possiblity is a loose drive belt, but that would ordinarily present a belt noise (loud squeal). Another possiblity is the alternator is failing and cannot deliver sufficient current to run the electrical devices that kick on when the AC is running. A parts store can check that for you for free!

I changed the air compressor and the dashboard control panel last year and it has done ok. Now the temp. fan and the compressor fan won't kick in and the air compressor won't kick in also. Checked all...

You say temp fan?If you mean the cooling fans, then the ac is out of freon most likely, the freon has to be in the system, and enough to kick the compressor on,therefore turning the cooling fan on.

Loud buzzing noise

From the sounds of it, it's simply your air ride's compressor. If you're not aware that your vehicle has air ride suspension, read up on the user's manual or look on the web. When you start your vehicle and shift into drive or reverse, your compressor should start (assuming no doors are ajar). The compressor than fills all four airbags in your vehicle to a factory-set height. These airbags provide a softer ride than the conventional shock/strut system seen in less expensive SUV's and trucks but are also more prone to problems and damage down the line. You can isolate the compressor as the sound by going to your truck, removing the left hand side panel and switching your air ride off. Your car's compressor then should not kick in at all. However, you should not operate your vehicle with this switch turned off. You should only use it as a diagnostic reference or anytime your car is towed, hoisted, or jacked up. Hope this helps.
