Check for leaks at plem gasket and manafold gasket leaks
this happens on a lot of these when the mileage gets up above a 100,000 spray carb cleaner around the gaskets

Check the fuel pressure, and change the fuel filter,it would be a good idea to have the oil pressure checked also.

Mazda3,2005 trouble code p2177 system too lean off idle bank1

Check for correct fuel pressure.
If fuel pressure is low could be bad fuel filter, fuel regulator or pump.
If fuel pressure is correct could be bad MAF sensor, injectors, O2 sensor or vacuum leak on inlet manifold.

What does code #P0171 mean for a 96 Villager?

"System too lean (bank1)" O2 sensor is giving this error code. There are two O2 sensors one near the engine and one downstream. It could just be an anomaly or the sensor could be going bad. (Bank 1) is the O2 sensor closest to the engine. I had a PT cruiser that constantly gave this code even after replacing both sensors. If the car seems to run fine, clear the code and see if it reappears immediately. If it does then the O2 sensor is probably bad. If it doesn't come back then it was probably an anomaly. I would get this code every 2 or three months on the PT cruiser and would just clear the code to turn the check engine light off as the car ran fine.

Gives me a code po171 then when i kill it it want starte til it cools

This is a Code that the system is too lean on Bank1. If you have a bad intake gasket leak on Bank1 it can generate this code. There can also be an inaccurate O2 sensor reading from a Bank1 sensor saying the fuel mix is too rich and then causing the ECM to lean out the mix. As long as the bad O2 sensor operates within its "range" no O2 code will be generated.

For the intake leak, while the engine is running. take a spray water bottle and spray along the intake gasket. Any hesitation or stalling will reveal the air leak.

Since it takes a cooldown to rectify the problem, Temperature sensors could be bad and forcing a lean condition. The O2 sensors are also affected by heat.

i would check ur fuses that supply voltage to ur o2 sensors, their in the fuse box and usually r labeled o2 sensr. sounds like the o2 sensrs dont have power

Check engine light on my 01 windstar when scaned the codes were po171 and po174 bank 1 and bank 2 too lean

thats a lean code which mean there is a vaccum leak or fuel flow is low. can be the fuel filter, most likely it is a vaccum leak, spray with carb spray around the intake and the hoses and see if the idle changes

My 1998 ford winstar is showing check engine light and the code is p0171 what that means

Check for a small hole in the right angle rubber hoses between the PCV valve and the motor. A hold in the hoses will give a false alarm indicating "lean bank1" and "lean bank2" on Fords and Lincolns and once you replace those faulty hoses or at least tape them up you can reset the codes at the parts store and it should not come back until you have holes in the hoses again. you can also keep driving the car and after numerous "successful trips" with no more codes, the engine light will eventually go off if you have corrected the problem.

174 system too lean

Sensor 1
The 2 front 02 sensors are located on the front of
the exhaust manifold.
Should solve problem and increase gas mileage.
