Does the motor actually GO or does it bog down and die?? If it goes then your seat is either off the track or the gears on the end of the drive from the motor are loose/shot/broken

WEll you could just look under the seat and you will see the guides... make sure everything is lined up. You can remove the seat, which isnt hard, that may be your best bet on finding the problem. If you need any more assistance dont be afraid to ask

Power seat stopped working

There are 2 motors under the seat that control how it moves (one for forward/back and one for up/down) Check to make sure the connections are still connected/clean. If they are then your motor burnt out or there is something jamming the rollers on the track the seat rides on.

My daughter's 2005 grand prix will not start. How can she get in the trunk to get to her jumper cables because the key fob won't work to open the trunk and the inside trunk release won't work...

In your situation I think your best bet is going to be taking out the back seat. Luckily this is very easy and will allow you easy access to your truck and jumper cables. Okay in order to remove the back seat you will have to have a socket set. There should be 2 bolts holding the bottom of the seat down and you can find them on the floor on the front part of the rear seat. One bolt on the driver side and one bolt on the passenger side. After you get those bolts out you should be able to remove the bottom section of the seat. If you can not look for two more bolts on the back part of the seat. You will have to look between the back of the seat and the bottom part. After you take those two bolts out both parts of the seat should be free and you can remove them. I hope this helps.

Drivers seat wont move forward. power moves the seat up and down but not forward or back

try tapping the motor that runs the seat back and forth.sometimes the motors get corroded if they are not used often enough.

2003 pontiac grand prix power seat will not go forward or backward but it will go up and down

Check the connector on the cylindrical motor under the seat. You can see it from the back seat well. The connector has a tendency to come loose because of stuff pushed underneath the seat.
