PATHFINDER PROBLEMS...1999.5 I took off the air intake hose from the air filter to clean out intake build-up (accelerator sticking at first push), since then it starts up at 2200rpm (in colder...

IF you have a build up in the air hose after the air cleaner you have a problem in the air cleaner not sealing properly as air after the cleaner is supposed to be clean. As to the high revs on start check the air flow sensor connection hasn't been loosened when you removed the hose or is still working ok as if you have the problem with the accelerator it is also possible that the sensors in the line have been affected as well

Dont know how to change air intake sensor on 2000 hyundai sonota 6 cyl..... Think they might have gave us the wrong part????

THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS MOUNTED IN THE INTAKE AIR HOSE OF THE AIR CLEANER .THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS INTEGRATED INSIDE THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR.SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM REMOVE.DISCONNECT ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR,THEN REMOVE THE MOUNTING SCREWS HOLDING IT IN PLACE.THEN REMOVE IT.TAKE THE OLD INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR WITH YOU TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE SO THEY WILL MATCH UP AND GIVE YOU THE CORRECT SENSOR.WHEN YOU INSTALL NEW SENSOR,YOU NEED A CODE SCANNER TO ERASE CODE TO TURN OFF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ECU COD INTAKE VACUM LEAK WHAT IS MOST COM PROBLEM WITH THE 2.5 AND VACUM LEAK

Hello...

I am not sure about your exact car. Im sorry, but I dont know EVERYTHING. However most vac leaks are caused by a hose. If not the hose then by a loose intake manifold, or bad manifold gasket. Sometimes the manifold itself can crack.

The EASIEST way I have found to run down a vac leak is to buy a can of SPRAY carb cleaner, most autoparts stores have this stuff. With the engine running spray the carb cleaner near suspected leak sites. The ends of hoses, down along the intake gaskets, pretty much anywhere air can go. When you find the leak your engine will SPUTTER. Sometimes it will even die. Carb cleaner doesnt burn that great apparantly and when it gets SUCKED IN to the fuel air mix it throws it off.

Once you find the site of your leak the fixes are pretty easy. From what I have read recently alot of people seem to be getting away with just tightening bolts this winter. I dont know if the sudden change in temp or just everyones cars seem to be about the same age.

Anyhow thats how I find intake leaks.

I hope this helps

My check engine lite is on had it checked they said one of hoses might be pluged dont have a clue where to look

Had same problem on 95 SL. Blow carb & choke cleaner through intake, being sure to get butterfly & bypass (the holes in front of butterfly). Spray out any hoses you can get to. You're not supposed to have it running when you do this, but if you do it'll draw carb cleaner into your vacuum hoses as well.
This also corrects over-revving issues that Saturn claims are o2 sensor related, but they'll charge you $200 and hook up an air cleaning injector and run your car for 30 minutes.
Have someone idle the car and shoot carb cleaner through the system - it'll clean the sensor spring on the air flow sensor, too.
