we tested the fuel filter. We did what you said, turned it over and no fuel is coming out. We then took the gas cap off and listened as the key was turned on but not turned over, and we could not hear the fuel pump coming on. Does this mean that the fuel pump is definitely the problem and needs to be replaced?

  • meyer_4 May 04, 2010

well we disconnected the wiring to the fuel pump, put in a new fuse, and it still blew the fuse. Does that mean we have a short in our wiring?

thank you for your advice, but it turned out to be a short in the condenser inside the distributor. fixed it and it runs fine.

Do you have any idea on how to fix the climate control knob on the dashboard in the 92 camry? Somehow it got stripped and the heater and/or a/c don't work very well now.

    thank you once again.

so you know that we got the car running, and it was perfectly fine yesterday, but today after it was driven about 6 miles total and the check engine light came on. Could something be causing that condenser to to heat up too much and fry it, like a short or something?

It is most likely the fuel pump fuse that is blowing,if so,the fuel pump will need to be replaced,it is in the fuel tank, and the fuel tank would have to be removed to do this.Testing at the fuel pump would have to be done to determine if the fuel pump is the cause, but you can remove the fuel filter, and turn the key on,if the fuel does not shoot out of the fuel line where the fuel filter was, then the fuel pump is the most likely problem.

Check the voltage to the pump, see if it has voltage to it,it should be 12 volts, check the fuel pump relay, look in your car manual ands see where the location of the relay is,sometimes the relay will short out because of the bad fuel pump.

Most of the time it is the cable that is bad,but follow the cable from it,and you can move the lever to cold by hand, and leave it there until you can replace the cable.

Why wont my remote respond on a camry 2.2si 1997model. replaced batterys as well

ok try to keep it simple, maybe check your relay module. Which should be located under the hood, in the fuse & relay department. Also u might check the fuse under your dash if this does not work. If u have a owners manuel it should tell u what fuse/ or relay would need to check & the 1 u would need. if u do not have a owners manuel u could go to A O'reillys / Advanced Auto & they should be able to tell u the the correct fuse & or Relay u should check & or purchase. Hope I helped

2002 chrysler sebring fuse keeps blowing for ignition wont start untill you replace fuse. what amp fuse should be in it. or what could be causeing it??

For your ignition you should use a 20-30 amp fuse. However, it sounds like you have a short somewhere. If you have a short it is not going to matter how big of a fuse you use it will keep blowing out. You best bet would be to take your car into the shop and tell them you have a short and to find and fix it. I must warn you though, shorts are very often times very hard to find, and take alot of time to find. Therefore most of the time they are expensive to fix. I know that probably was not what you wanted to here, But I hope it gives you a place to start out at. Hopefully this helps you out.

1995 camry running fine up until i parked it for 2 hrs ignition fine timeing belt fine keeps popping 30 amp fuse could that fuse block were the harnesses are plugged to under the dash go bad?

It takes a short circuit to blow a fuse. You could try to disconnet thingsuntil it stops, but that is slow. Better if you buy pulse generator to replace the fuse, then move probe over wire until puse stops at the short in the wire.
Harbor Freight might sell a short circuit test probe and pulse generator.

Toyota Camry 1994 Main Fuse keeps blowing

-if your fuses are blowing
-the problem is in the wiring
-because if too much amperage flows through the fuse will blow
-there's probably a short to ground somewhere or high resistance after the fuses causing it to draw more amps

1987 camry blows 30 amp fusible link when ign turned to on positi

Something is drawing too much power and you will have to find out which it is. When the head job was done they may have gotten a wire pinched in the block or some thing. You would have to be quite mknowledgable in vehicle electronics to find it. I would suggest that you take it back to the shop or guy that done the head job for you to correct.

Hi. There's a short in the system. A positive wiring is touching chassis or a negative wiring, causing a short in the system, and therefore blowing the fuse. Have it revised by a electromechanic in your area.
