Adjust your mixture screws. If you're not mechanically inclined take it to a shop. Worst case scenario you need your carb rebuilt if the float is toast.

No, not the screws...if you are sure it's pushing too much gas into the carb, you need a fuel regulator set at 3.5 psi....but, again, you have to be sure thats the problem, too many variables here like what carb is it, is it new, how are the fuel lines, etc etc etc...

It could need plugs, or something else. Plugs are designed to last 100,000 miles but no guarantee.
Often times stalling is caused by a dirty throttle body or a faulty idle air control valve. I would have a mechanic check the valve and also see if there are any trouble codes stored in the computer.

I have a 1979 cj 5, i can't keep my front spindle nuts tight. the tab on the outer washer is not long enough to bend over the outer nut, what am i doing wrong?

Generally if you bend the washer up against the flat side of the nut they generally don't move. Not sure what you could be doing wrong. It doesn't generally take that much to hold that nut from turning.

I have a 1979 Jeep CJ5 6 cyl. The Jeep starts and

With the engine off, Look down into the carburetor and move the throttle. If you don't see a healthy squirt of fuel. the accelerator pump has failed. The carb may also have deposits in the fuel passageways and may need an overhaul including a good soak in carb cleaning solution.

1975 cj5 jeep starts to shake badly at about 40 mph.

I had the exact same same issue with my 03 sahara at the exact same speed and it was a huge build up of dirt in the rims (live on gravel road)that may be the issue or you may have a badly balanced tire or a bad front end part(s) ball joint tie rod etc......
hope this helps!
