we did just put a ignition cylinder in about 2 weeks ago. the problem just started with the fan. so maybe we have a bad cylinder.

maybe faulty key ignition ?....telling it it's still in the " on" position?....does the radio and everything else turn off? might be low on coolant or maybe a blockage in the cooling system, forcing the fan on to try to cool it?

Looks like the engine temp sensor might be bad causing the fan to stay on or a possible stuck fan relay

the fans are not likely to be staying on because of an ignition cylinder remove the wire connector for the temp sensor and see if the fans stop spinning

My 1996 Chevy Lumina gets hot, then wont start. Is

there is a sensor that tells the ECM to turn on the fan/s however the most common problem is the cooling fan motors go bad and need replacing. If you disconnect the electrical plug at the fan motor and run jumper wires to it from the battery the fans should run if not then the motor needs replacing.

Well my car continues to run hot ... i put new thermostat in... and new sensor for the fans to kick on but they wont come on... bled by coolant lines... everything i can think of... o and my car smokes to...

Smoke coming out of engine compartment or tailpipe? If coming out of tailpipe then you have a bad head gasket. As for the fans. Get some wire and run a line directly from the battery to the fans. Fans should kick on. If not, you have bad fan motors.

2001 Jeep Grand cherokee cooling fan runs on

Likely your fan relay internal contacts have burned closed. Relay should be either in the power distribution center or in front of the battery.
