Have you tried Lock ease or some other Lock Cylinder Lubricant? Even motor Oil usually will work but you will have to wipe off the Key several times. I have a 2002 Aztek and lubricate all the locks annually. I have had your problem only once and Oil did the trick. The only other thing I can think of is the possibility of someone putting a foreign object into the Lock such as a small piece of wire or Paper Clip. At first my key would stick in the ignition..then after a little while
it could be removed...some times I had to wiggle the shifter.now it
does not work and the key is stuck...Thank you all...Ray from MI
This will require a keyfob bypass. It has a transponder in the key that needs to be 5" or less away from the ignition. You may need to seek professional help.
There is a hole under the steering column right near the ignition switch, if the key gets stuck, stick a pen or something in the hole, you will feel the little lever move and you can remove the key.
