Overheats at high speed, cools back down at low speed. Heater lowers the temp.

With everything you have changed not fixing the problem, I would check the water pump and belt. You could also have something preventing the coolant from circulating freely through the engine.

Where is the radiator drain plug located on a 97 chevy 1500 Z71? I'm trying to flush the radiator, but cannot find it.

It's located on the drivers side of the radiator opposite of the lower radiator hose. Note: you may be better off disconnecting the lower radiator hose, it's common for the drain plug to break or the O-rings to split causing more work to drain the radiator. That's why most tech's will drain the radiator from the lower radiator hose, less chance of breaking the radiator drain plug and most new cars now don't come with a drain plug to the radiator.

Where is drain plug for 1998 dakota 4x4 i need to drain radiator &what is the turning thing on the lower drivers side of radiator 4

1998 dakota 4x4
You can remove the drain plug in the bottom on the radiator.
You can remove the lower radiator hose. Since the vehicle is 10 years old you may want to inspect the hoses for replacement anyway.

) Make sure the vehicle is cool.
) Slightly loosen the radiator cap to release any pressure.
) Re-tighten the radiator cap.
) Place a suitable container under the drain point.
) open the drain.
) Re-loosen the radiator cap again.
) Allow to drain.
) REPLACE THE DRAIN PLUG.
* At this point the radiator can be fill with water and a radiator cleaning agent- run the engine - allow to warm up.
* Re-drain the radiator - .
) REPLACE THE DRAIN PLUG.
) Refill the radiator with water/anti-freeze.
) Dispose of waste fluid according to the local regulations. Some city dumps will accept it. Some parts stores may accept it. Do not pour down the drain or dump on the ground.

Hi, How do I locate the radiator drain plug, so I can flush the system? Car is 1993 mk3 Golf 1.6. Thanks

IT looks like a screw thats pugging a hole not to be confused with the thermistor or fan switch which has wires connected to it, you could just pull the lowest hose off the radiator if its a cross flow type radiator and make sure that you drain it into a tray or some container and dispose it in an appropriate way ie licensed contracter/garage/council
