I have a 1988 isuzu truck, I have a leak behind the thermastat housing, I can not tell if there is a hose there or not, but I can see water squirting out, at the base of the housing on the backside,

may be that thermostat is cracked or could need to replace the gasket. would try gasket first if you cant see exactly where the water is coming from.

My 1998 jeep grand cherokee is running hot and leaking water, is the water pump bad?

well first i would check all the water hoses in the engine compartment for cracks and leaks then check around the radiater for leaks if you don't see any water leaking from the hoses or the radiater then try to see if you see water coming from the water pump behind the cooling fan if the water is leaking from behind the cooling fan then it is most likely your water pump

Replaced the water pump on our '97 Buick Century because we thought that is where the leak was originating. Replaced the hose from the radiator to the water pump as well. It is still leaking with fluid...

How to you install a water pumpon a 3.5 97 dodge

Remove the hood bracket bar, 4bolts, then the fan shroud assembly, then the belts, belt adjuster, and timing covers, line up the cam gears, crank gear to the marks , cam has 1 dot, they line up to timing housing 2 dots, (single dot to middle of the 2 dots), crank has 1 dot to mark on the oil pump housing to your right of crank gear, thats TDC. now remove the timing belt tensioner, 2 bolts, and remove the belt, if the pump has leaked, replace the belt, and tensioner if it is NOT metal Pulley, the fibre one will break down from the antifreeze. its a good idea to replace the water pump housing orings behind it, ac bracket has to come off, as the right cam on engine, this not a retiming iussue with the gear. GOOD LUCK. RDJRP

97 dodge avenger-the tube behind water pump is

the dealer should be able to get these. you may have to remove the intake manifold or see what you have to remove in order to do the job. its not something an amateur should try to do. They usually leak because of poor maint, and degraded coolant. If its leaking, more cooling problems are likely on the way.

What is the name of the part on the 1996 jeep cherokee sport that has three hoses connected to it. mine is leaking coolant. is it the thermostat housing ?

yes, it sounds like it. Only two hoses go onto the thermostat housing, the other one goes down behind onto the water pump.

Coolant leak on 2004 grand cherokee 4.0

might be the thermostat housing to as its right above the water pump. the best bet would be to pressure test the cooling system and inspect to see where its coming from
