Renault Clio Series, 1.4 16valve - starting problems.

clio can get problems with the dispacks fitted to the spark plugs. i would check them. the stop is to say something is wrong, if it don't get a signal or a voltage drop when something is turned on it turns off ecu functions. my friend had this model and had the same fault, replaced them and the fault went away. usually get a misfire when they on way out, but sometimes they just die.

Renault clio 1.2 extreme problems

Hello, Gosh my 51 reg renault does exactly the same! Took it to a garage had the throttle body replaced with a genuine renault part but went again few months later - this time the car would not start - relays corroded. Had the throttle body replaced under warranty (Jan 08) but then it went again - this time told by renault that a Wiring loom needed replacing - £150 +VAT & labour. Last week went again - i'm beginning to think that this car will never be fixed. Renault wanted to charge £300 to fix but told them we had had all this work done previously and they came back and said it was a faulty connection. Tonight (05th Sept 08) as i type this my husband is waiting for the AA to tow him to renault as it has, yes you've guessed it happened again!!!!!!! This is rediculous, does no-one at renault know how to fix this??!!

Renault clio 1.2 extreme problems

you may have been put literally offtrack. Check the crank sensor (TDC) and make sure this is working fine. I recommend getting it checked at an autorised service centre.
