Question about 1989 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer
My 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3L won't start. When I try to start it, no fuel comes out of the injector nozzles (I verified this by holding a paper under it).
If I pour some fuel directly into the TBI, it will start up but immediately die as it runs out of fuel.
I already replaced the Fuel filter, Fuel pump and Assembly (sending unit), cleaned out the gas tank and put 7 gallons of good fuel in there.
I think the fuel pump is pushing fuel up to the TBI, because I think I hear the pump turn on, and when I disconnect the hose by the TBI now, fuel is present (when it was only air in there before).
I think the injectors are getting the right electrical signals because when I test with a test light, one side lights the light constantly when I ground it, and the other side flickers dimly when I connect it with the battery and attempt to start.
I think the fuel relay works because when I hold my fingers on it and have my friend attempt to start the car, I can feel the relay click inside.
No fuses are blown and there were no trouble codes.
I don't know what else could stop fuel from coming out of those injectors. There must be something I'm missing.
This car has sat for years so I imagine anything could be broken on it.
Is there anything else I can test? Thanks!
Fuel pressure regulator. It regulates the fuel pressure you receive going to the injectors. All the injectors would not be bad, so you have to take a step back to the next component, which should be the regulator.
