Question about 2004 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

My 2004 Camry is on its 4th water pump and has only 69000km. As well, we still hear a gushing sound from the cooling system through the dash and/or heater core. Any comments and/or suggestions on how to deal with these issues would be appreciated.

Not sure why 4th pump assuming they are leaking you need to check timing cover to be sure you have a smooth, clean, and flat surface...as far as the gushing sound need to raise front of car remove radiator cap and allow to idle in this postion fro 10 mins or so no more air bubbles then install cap before lowering front end..please rate this and good luck

The sound is the heater getting air in it from air in the cooling system. Have the system pressure tested for leaks.

SOUND LIKE BAD THERMOSTAT REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP..BUT YOU NEED TO MIX 50/50 MIXTURE OF ANTIFREEZE AND WATER IN THE COOLING SYSTEM TO RAISE BOILING TO KEEP CAR FROM OVERHEATING.

I hear a sound of gushing water behind the right side of the dash on my 2005 Nissan Altima? What is the issue? I heard it may be attributed to an air pocket in my cooling system. I had a mechanic service...

Its an airlock in the heater core.Start the motor and turn the heater on full.this opens the water tap that allows the hot water through the heater core.Take off the radiator cap first before all this.Only take the cap off a COOL motor.(important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)Now run the the motor and as it warms up,bring the revs to about 1500rpm.Have a look in the radiator caop and hopefully you will see some air bubbles.Turn the heater tap on and off a few times to help surge the water through. If this does not fix it,the heater core may have a blockage and this requires the 2 heater hoses to be taken of and flushed through in both diections.Hope this helps

Water

You are hearing the water flowing through your heater core. There might be some air trapped in the cooling system. Check the coolant level first thing in the morning before you start the car. Top it off and put the cap on tight.
