Question about 1993 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

I have to replace the fuel pump on 1993 Taurus. Is there any way to cut out the floor to do this easier than lowering the tank? I have taken out the back seat, so if this can be done, where is the best area to cut the floor out?

Why turns over but no spark no fuel?

Broncos are known for bad fuel pumps in the tank. Hopefully you do not have a full tank of fuel and will be able to drop the tank fairly easily. Please use a jack when lowering the tank as someone could get hurt. I myself cut a door in the floor of the cargo area to access the fuel pump without having to drop the tank you will see once dropping the tanks how this could definitely come in handy in your near future.

I need to replace the fuel pump in the gas tank of my 1993 Mercury Topaz. What is the least expensive way to replace the fuel pump? Is it okay to reroute the fuel line to a new tank in the trunk or

you can pull the tank off, and put new straps on after. or cut a hole in the trunk just above where your fule pump is and remove the pump that way, patch floor afterwards

Need to change the fuel pump can i cut a hole in the floor, if so where

Hi, you will have to drop the tank to change it,I would not suggest cutting hole in floor, you might cut wires or even worse fuel lines ( ca-boom ) the tank is not to hard to drop.( should just be 2 straps holding tank up. good luck. yz-maniac

Replacing feul pump holden rodeo 1993

Cutting a hole in metal above fuel pump is way easier than dropping the fuel tank. Avoid sparks though! A shortened oiled hack saw blade on a jig saw may do the trick. Cut three sides and bend panel back, seal back with bondo, liquid nails, puttty two part epoxy, etc.

There is no easy way around this, you must drop the fuel tank to change out the fuel pump on this vehicle.A floor jack will make your life much easier to aid you in removal of the fuel tank after the rear of the vehicle is supported in the air.I hope I could help!!!! Thanks!!!

Replacement of fuel pump on 91 firebird

i suppose this would work but then u would have water and debris blowing in and it would rust out. i would rather put 3/4 copper pipe into gas opening and slide rubber line through pipe past flap into gas tank and siphon gas into buckets and lift car on jacks and get a buddy to help lower tank or use floor jack and block of wood to lower tank and not destroy floor and create new problems
