Can you tell me which fuse is the check engine light

Posted by on

1 Answer

No fuse. The check light tells you that a malfunction has occured. Need to hook a code reader or scanner to the connector under the dash and retrieve the codes.
Then proceed to troubleshoot the issues and repair.
Everyone on this site, is on a fuse kick. Please understand that fuses don't fix things. They open ONLY when you have a short, which hopefully is never.

There is no fuse. Go to your local parts store and ask them to hook up their code analyzer which will tell you what is wrong. Then they can tell you how to fix the problem. Check engine is no joke and more than likely terminal if not attended to. Most parts stores offer this as a free service. Most vehicles have an access cable connection under the driver side dash board.

06 honda odyssey electrical issues and check engine light

power problems, 12vdc not there. all the time. it drops out
do the head lights dim too, or dash lights
why on scan the ECU, and see if it shows , DTC for power loss

im guess, bad or loose fuse. remember bad fuses look bad, good looking fuses can be bad. (hair cracks or corrosion on pins)
wiggle all fuses. see what happen then. tell me all things that fail.
i bet there are more,

The windows will not roll down and the check engine light is on...what is going on?

Your windows may be a fuse. It should be in the fuse box inside the car. Take your car to Autozone and they will read your check engine light. They do this for free and they can tell you why your light is on. I would do this asap, just in case it is a big problem. This will save you money. Hope this helps.

My 2006 Hummer H2 has check engine light on for abut 2 weeks, I checked fuse box and no burned out fuse, all OK. what could it be wrong? what shall I do about it? Can I fix it myself? Can anyone tell me...

There could be a hundred causes for a check engine light (and probably not for a fuse). First step is to hook up a computer scan tool and see what codes the computer has. The next step depends on the codes.

2003 honda accord. Dad changed fuse for cigarette lighter because he needed to use a prtable pump to put air in my tire. Ever since them my engine light is on . I had no problems before. What can I do?

The two should not be related. Go to atozone and ask them to run a check for the check engine light. It's free and it will tell you exactly what's wrong.

Check Engine and Service Engine lights both on

No fuses control those lights, and while I'd ignore the service engine, check engine suggests something is wrong and should not be ignored!
You could buy yourself a nanocom or similar and reset your service light and read the fault code to tell if the check engine is an intermittent error or something potentially more serious!
