SOURCE: imobiliser renault scenic megane is stuck on and

tight you replaced the lock barrell so you have new keys ,now inside this key is a chip so remove the chip from the old ley and tape it to teh transponder ,now make sure the chip that was inside the key is removed by whatever means you have to use even drilling it out. Then it will start as what happens is the new lock has the key programmed to a code for instalisation in a new vehicle and the chip in the key is confusing the transponder its a renault remember and they do have a mind of their own in regards to the immobilisor ,if you do as i say it should start if it doesnt then lock and unlock the drivers door three times slowly then jump in quick and start car within 20 secs of the key turning procedure and if that doesnt work then call the dealer and pay through the nose

Key is stuck in the ignition how do i get it out

Key won't release until the spring-loaded steering lock pawl is ready to be released. The internal interlocks are released when the key is turned fully anti-clockwise prior to removing the key and the mechanism is released as the key is withdrawn.

If this is not happening, something internal is probably jamming the mechainism and preventing the key being turned sufficiently anti-clockwise or the release mechanism is jammed.

Either way the problem is most likely to be internal. Removing the column cowl for better access, copious amounts of penetrating oil and some gentle tapping of the lock body while the key is manipulated might free it. If it does the steering lock should be replaced as an unreliable steering lock is a liability.

Best idea might be to leave the key in and remove the key and barrel complete. This is likely to be a matter of pressing a suitable rod into barrel release hole with the key in position one. If successful it will make the steering lock replacement a little easier and quite a bit less expensive.

How can i remove a citroen picasso ignition barrel without having a key

Very, very difficult. Bear in mind that there is an RFID sensor near the barrel that is used by the immobilizer system. If you can turn your key one notch between OFF and ON, then the locking pins can be pressed in and you can pull the barrel out. If not, your need to remove the whole steering column and do a lot of drilling/grinding to remove the locking pin.

How to replace a 93 MH Barina ignition barrel

take it to the dealer. for the fix or get the FSM on car and read
all the complex steps on doing that. RTM.
1993? no air bags right, (they can be dangerous to any mechanci)
pull the steering wheel off.
then remove the tamper bolts from key lock assembly.
then put in a new lock.
once the keyassemlbe is out , take it to any key/lock shop and
ask him/her to fix it, if they cant, then buy a new one.
if you want to hot wire the car, get the FSM, and use that and its
schematics to see if you can do it, if not. ask a qualified, autoelectric
shop to do it.
if the key switch has locking steering feature, like all here(usa)
do not let it fail, is it might lock while driving. DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. Safety first, no>?

I want to know how to remove ignition lock on a Renault scenic 2002 reg

Remove the plastic cowling and the immobiliser ring, disconnect the wiring plug from the switch and then turn the ignition to position 1.There will be a pin that you push in and this releases the complete ignition barrel/steering lock/wiring assembly, the new replacement will slide in using the same technique. You can put the replacement key blade into your original fob and all will be well.

My key wont turn in the ignition

Either the key is worn, the lock barrel is worn or the steering lock is engaged.

The last one can be solved by pulling down or pushing up one side of the steering wheel as you try to turn the key; this tales the load off the steering lock allowing it to disengage.

The only other fix is to try any spare keys which you have for the car. If they work then your main key needs to be replaced. If not then you need to have the ignition key barrel and possibly the entire steering lock assembly professionally replaced. As your car is an older model a garage may be able to permanently disable your steering lock as a cheaper fix if that's where the issue lies, but you'll then find that your insurance company will want to increase your premiums or even refuse cover. If your keys are chipped immobiliser keys then they may all need to be reprogrammed to the car as part of the repair job.

How do you get out the ignition barrel

on alot of vehicles from the mid 80's and newer you have to take off your steering wheel and get a tool called a lock plate remover... take off your horn assembly.. your lock plate(locks your steering wheel from moving.. ) and then you need the key... try to turn it to the accesory position.. towards you.. it should slide out and new lock switch slides in... these are generic steps.. your car may be a little different.. but it should give you a good enough guide to either try or maybe get a friend to help good luck..
