Question about 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I currently have a propblem where my engine will rev up as if it is totally disconnected from the transmission. It is slipping badly. However, I pull over, turn off the car, wait a minute, start it up, and It runs normally again. Right before this started to happen, my speedometer went haywire. sometimes it works, others not. Using my GPS for a speedometer.
Hi the best thing you should do is have a diagnostic check done as the problem your having could be one of a few problems.
its would be worth getting the auto box fluid changed to rule out low or bad fluid causing the box to slip, how ever the problem could also be your torque converter is on its way out, the torque converter failing gives you the exact same problem you are getting.
the problem is it isnt cheap to replace this part how ever it may be worth you getting a reconditioned box as you would get some warranty and also some cash back for exchange on yours.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
