Question about 2000 Kia Sportage
On the crank nut (with the pulley removed), line up the end of the pin with the notch in the gear and line up the "I" stamped on the intake gear (the gear on the left hand side if you are looking at the engine from the front of the car) to the notch stamped in the backing plate(12 o'clock position). Do the same to the exhaust cam gear but align the "E" stamped in the gear to the 12 O'clock notch in the backing plate above it.
