Question about 1999 Lexus ES 300
While attempting to start the car, you get "click" like a dead battery. On the second attempt the car starts right up. I just replaced the battery. I never had this problem until Changed the battery. The mechanic said it might be the starter. But listening to it, it sounds as if key is worn and the ignition switch is not fully engaging on the first try. Any athoughts?

How does the ES 300 fit your driving style?
Conservative drivers your dream come true, Smooth, comfortable and quiet, easy to control and predictable. This car is the one to beat.
Sporty drivers Electronic throttle is very responsive, handles well for a car with such a cushy ride, Not as powerful as the other cars in this class.
Fast drivers Should opt for the Adaptive Variable Suspension. The firm setting provides this car with the character you are looking for as far as handling goes, but for all around performance, you may be happier with a Lexus IS300 or maybe an Acura TL Type S.
The answer to your question - the IS-250 is a luxury model, and the IS is sporty.
Both considered in the same CLASS of vehicle - near Luxury.
Who should buy this car? A person who is looking for a mid-sized sedan that is a cut above the average sedan in styling, comfort, luxury & performance.

I just changed the cabin filter of my ES300. I found the instructions on the manual, under airconditioning and audio. It's pretty easy to do. I bought the filter from Kragen's for $21.95.

My Son has a 95 es300, the amp for it is located under the front passenger seat. The easiest way to access it is to remove the 4 bolts holding the seat down, and remove the seat. Takes about 5 minutes
