You do not have a carburetor you have fuel injection. You also have electronic engine controls and a diagnostics system that monitors them.
Fuel and spark advance are controlled by that system.
I first recommend that you have a code scan done to determine if the fault has registered any codes (most larger auto parts stores do that free).
A fuel pump that is beginning to fail can sometimes give similar symptoms as you reported, as can a partially plugged filter. Neither will register a code. Before replacing a pump, verify that it has a good ground and voltage going to it. If not check the pump relay and auto shutdown relay.
No one can give you an exact answer to your problem because a responsible answer can only be established by proper testing.
Both haynes and chilton manuals have good test procedures you can do using a digital multi-meter. Fuel pressure tests should be done using a fuel pressure gauge made for that purpose. The gauge is a bit expensive and only has that one specific use. Therefore you may have it in your tool box for a long time before you need it again. You can have a shop check the pressure often for less than the price of the gauge, or you may be able to rent one from a parts house.
Aside from a simple filter replacement, test first, buy parts later...it will save you money and grief.
If you have a question about any of your findings just ask and someone will help you!!!
Good Luck!!

I remember the "Parts Replace" routine all too well from my truck. It's probably the fuel filter needing to be changed, clogging up and clogging the flow.

I have a jeep that cuts out randomly whilst driving. I have replaced the crank angle sensor about 3 months ago. It will run fine for 1-3 weeks and then just chug like its running out of fuel. It doesnt...

try replacing the fuel filter. also do you notice a louder than usual fuel pump whine? maybe fuel pump is going out, now, only if you hear the fuel pump working harder than usual should you be concerned about pump issues. also, check spark plugs, coils, ect. if it's due for a tune up, get it done.
