Could be a defective freeze plug, possible head gasket issue or a cracked block. See if you can get a closer look at the location of the water escaping for clues as to the cause.

Why is it leaking?

It sounds like a water pump. Releasing the pressure by removing the radiator cap could make it start leaking again because the water pump is probably the only component on the cooling system that would leak, then stop and then leak again. If you had a void in the radiator, hoses or expansion plugs, releasing the pressure would have no effect.

the water pump us with the timing belt so the repair will be extensive. You must check the cooling system's ability to hold pressure, and different pressures at that, with a cooling system pressure tester. That's really the only right way to diagnose this.

1996 chrysler cirrus passenger side of engine squirting coolannt liquid by all the pulleys what is it????

Check for a rusted welsh plug. (expansion plug) in the head or block. Check that the coolant is not from the drain hole in the bottom of the water pump indicating a failed pump seal. Have a coolant system pressure test done and you will see where the water is coming from

Where is the ignition module and how do we test it/replace it, etc

Hello porch1214,

The ignition module is on the right rear side of the engine, see image below it is item #3.

Unless you have the proper test equipment you will not be able to do an accurate test. One simple test is to spray water on it with a squirt bottle while the engine it running if it starts to arc or stalls the engine replace the module.

Water leak in front passenger side water leaks from heater box area and runs underneath front carpet whenever it rains or when car is washed

you possibly have a leaky windshield. Try turning the heater blower on high , close all the windows and doors and get a squirt bottle with a soapy solution and start squirting it around the windshield edge and see if you get any bubbles from where you squirted the soapy solution. if you do WAH LAH you found where the water is coming in from.

I think water pump went out, but before all that work was to be done I noticed that I put water in the radiator and once I start the car water comes out from the water pump nipple and alot of water comes...

No it is not a cracked head, your water pump has a pressure hole to give you an indication that the pump is getting there. when the motor is running the pressure builds up and squirts the water all over, resulting in misleading you.

It sounds like you have a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head. These are usually caused from the engine over heating. if the leak is that server a quick check would be to fill the radiator with water and leave the cap off, then crank the engine over if the water comes squirting out from the radiator its a good to say its in the head gasket or cylinder head. Good luck
