It's more then likely the motor on the windows if they're not going down at all. Now if they go down and back up again sometimes then it could just be that you need to replace the regulator. Either way, you can find good parts for your car at Rockauto.com that are inexpensive so you can avoid paying more then necessary at the auto shop.

Need to know how to fix the windows in the stereo in my 1996 Lincoln Continental.all the fuses are fine, I don't know what to do next

None of the windows work ? You say fuses are good , which fuses ? Did you pull them all out an look at them ? Did you check for power - battery voltage at the window switches ? There is a driver door module involved !
  • Power Windows Completely Inoperative
  • Supply open or shorted.
  • Ground open.
  • Window regulator control switch inoperative.
  • Circuits open or shorted.
  • Window regulator electric drive inoperative.
  • Driver door module.
  • PERFORM driver door module self test. Service DTCs. If no DTCs are retrieved, GO to Pinpoint Test C .
If you don't know electrical circuit testing suggest you take to a AES certified repair shop ! If you plan to do this anyway your going to need a wiring diagram , wiring harness layout , volt ohm meter !

Hi,
The problem would be the power window switch assembly! That switch controls the power to ur window motors! If u are a tinkering man, try to borrow from any garage/friend w/ the same window switch and test it!
Or
Go to ur service center and have them check it for free... they always try the new switch... and you will know the main prob!

The drivers side electrical power window switch does not move drivers window up or down can be window intermittantly. all other window switches work properly.is there a fuse? I have replaced the whole...

if it works intermittanly then its not the fuse. In my opinion its 1 of 3 things. Either first the power connector going from the fuse to the window has a loose connection. 2 the switch itself has failed thus working intermittanly. 3 the motor is failing on the window. This should be the first 3 places you check but if you want to check the fuse its located in the high current fuse box in the engine compartment. An is D and is a 40a fuse. If you need further assistance please let me know, Thanks, Midwest-tek

BMW X5 Original Stuck Window

hi there

there are three things that would cause this problem

1. the window motor is bad
2. the fuse that controls the window is blown

3. most common is the window switch its self

this is the most common cause
if the motor was going out it would make a noise or go down very slow but going down is easier then up so thats what makes me think switch or fuse

I recently bought a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire SE for my grand daughter as a High School graduation gift. Now the power windows won't go up or down. What could cause this problem? Hoping it is something simple...

This is One with the Power Window SWITCH in the CENTER Console they Often Get Liquids SPILLED on them Causing them to Fail, I Would First Check for 12volts @ the Switch with KEY ON. With a Sure 12volts Going IN the Switch Check for 12 Volt going OUT, If Switch IS BAD there Will be NO 12volts Coming OUT With this Go on to Switch Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
  1. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the power window switch bezel (1) from the console.
  2. Remove the electrical connection from the power window switch (2).
  3. With a flat-bladed tool release the power window switch (2) tabs, and remove the switch from the power window bezel (1) retainers.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE \

  1. Install the power window switch (2) into the power window switch bezel (1) until fully seated.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the power window switch (2).
  3. Install the power window switch bezel (1) to the floor console.

My passenger front window rolled down now it will not go back up do not hear any sound from the motor in the door trying to check the fuse but i do not know which fuse it is i know where my fuse block is...

Does the switch work the other windows? if not the switch is broken. Although it may just be the window in question with a faulty switch
If the motor was broken theres usually (not always) noise involved.
Pry out the switch and use an electric meter to test it.
The fuse will normally control more than 1 window, so if its blown, they will all not work.
be careful trying to raise the glass again.
Hope that helps.
