Question about 2004 Ford F250
Owner of 2004 Ford F250. Check engine light came on a couple of days ago, and fuel pressure gage reads zero pressure at idle. When accelerating light goes out and pressure gage goes to normal and as soon as I let off the gas and come to idle, light comes back on and pressure gage drops again. What could be the cause?
Check the fuel regulator at the end of the fuel rail. If if is not functioning properly it can cause the the problem that you are describing. Unfortunately other than doing an R&R with a known good regulator I do not know of a fool-proof test for this component.
