IYou need a special socket which is available at any auto parts store. It has a slot in it for the wires to fit and uses a 1/2 inch ratchet. If the sensor was working before the wires were cut, why not splice them back together. A few **** connectors and some heat shrink tube and you would be back on the road for about $10 instead of paying for a new sensor and socket. Hope this helps.

The O2 sensor is in your exhaust pipe leading away from the exhaust manifold connection. It will be the only sensor in the pipe itself. Look on BBB Industries online for a wiring diagram if you need one.

On my 84 monte carlo where is the o2 sensor located

It is located on the early part of the exhaust before the catalytic converter. Check both sides of the exhaust from the manifolds down until you find a wire that looks like it runs to your exhaust pipe, the wire would be running to the o2 sensor located on the exhaust.

How can i find my o2 sensor

Oxygen sensors are always in the exhaust system. Depending on the brand and engine, they can be located in the exhaust manifold, In the exhaust pipe before the Cataylitic convertor and/or after. It will have 2 or more wires giong to it and it screws into its location, and looks like this:

My brothers O2 sensor went out on his 97 2.3l ranger and we are having an hell of an time finding. Could you please tell me in detail where both of them are. thank you

They should be located before and after your cat converter in your exhaust system. Im not familiar with this vehicle but all O2 sensors are mounted basicly in the same area.

It should not be too hard but there are special sockets to clear the wire, you might get by with a wrench of the correct size, they are either side of the bulge in the front exhaust pipes (the cat converters) and either side of the transmission, are you sure you need all 4?

I want to change the O2 sensor in my 1999 dodge durango. Is it hard to do? It looks like it just plugs in, but I don't know the location where I would find it on my car. I have just seen a picture of what...

No...not hard to do.....if you have the right tool.

Hope this helps!

Sensor sockets, like this one from Lisle®, are slotted on one side to accommodate wiring

Most models have O2 sensors to monitor emissions before and after the catalytic converter

Removal & Installation
WARNING NEVER apply any type of grease to the O2 sensor electrical connector or attempt any soldering of the wiring harness. This will influence the sensors operation.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.

CAUTION The exhaust pipe gets extremely hot during engine operation, and if touched, severe burns can occur. If servicing the oxygen sensor, avoid contacting the exhaust system.

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness from the oxygen sensor.
  2. Remove the sensor using the appropriate tool.

NOTE The oxygen sensor threads are coated with an anti-seize compound. The compound must be removed from the mounting boss threads, either in the exhaust manifold or Y-pipe. An 18mm x 1.5 x 6E tap is required.

To install:
  1. Clean the threads of the mount to remove any old anti-seize compound.
  2. If the old sensor is to be reused, apply anti-seize compound to its threads. New sensors come with the compound already applied.
  3. Install and tighten the sensor to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm). Connect the wiring harness.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Where is o2 sensor on 1994 dodge 1500 pickup

O2 sensors on any vehicle are found either at the exhaust manifold outlet or within a foot or two of the outlet (looks like a spark plug with a thin wire coming out of it, screwed into the pipe) Main thing to remember is to always use anti-seize compound on the new one so you can remove it later. Some have two, one being closer to the converter, or, one on each side on v6 engines.

My Isuzu Rodeo O2 sensor light is on and I would like to fix the problem.Could anyone tell me where is that sensor located at?

There's also a circuit on the back of the instrument panel that causes the O2 lamp to light every so many miles- I guess its a way to remind you to change the sensor. To re-set the O2 warning circuit, you must remove the instrument panel and locate a set screw on the back of the green circuit board. Remove the screw from the receptacle it's in and relocate it to the receptacle next to it. This will re-set the warning light.
