Yes, most likely the battery or it's connections. Make sure connections are clean and tight. Charge battery (free quick charge available at most large parts stores. The can also test battery condition for free). Once the battery is checked out and it is determined it just needs a charge, or requires replacement, it should crank over. Good luck!

If the battery is the original i would replace it but yes the battery is too dead and if it is old enough the battery could be dead beyond recharging

When i turn the key on it makes a clicking sound

Hi there:It sure sounds like a dead or weak battery or problem with connections at battery or starter contacts. Check all connections and make sure there is no corrosion built up at battery terminals. Charge battery or try jumping.
If even dont work, check starter, starter solenoid or ignition switch.
Hope this helps.

I turn the key and the lights come on, but when i go to start it dosent do anything. when i hit the brake i here clicking behide the drive selector

Try jump starting. Lights take alot less power than starter. I suspect you battery is in need of replacement. If it starts with a jump, stop by your local parts store Autozone, Advance, etc.. and have them do a FREE charging system test and LOAD test your battery. They do this for FREE.
The clicking when applying brakes is normal, it's your brake light switch

1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass wont start

to start , make sure the battery is fully charged or try to jump start it. If the starter does not work after jump starting, check the wiring to the starter. be careful to label the wires where they go. Check all grounds. try to crank to engine. If it clicks and still does not turn or clicks only one or at all. Replace the starter.
