I would say it is possible an overheated engine which is not coolling the transmission can trigger a lot of lights. Many transmissons are heated and coolled by a line which goes to the radiator of the engine cooling system.

Over heating while pulling a trailor

Make sure fluid levels are full, including transmission, engine oil, and antifreeze both the radiator and overflow. Note: make sure the air filter is clean so the engine can breathe easier too.( like trying to run a marathon breathing through a straw, you will get hot/overheated quickly too) Check fan(s) to make sure they are operating properly, (inspect the blades for correct shape/bends) some clutch fans can wear out, You shouldn't be able to just free spin them, they should have drag to them (check this while the engine is cold and off) if you have electric fans make sure that they are coming on. Lastly check the radiator fins, make sure all bugs and junk are cleared from them that way air can pass through with no obstructions. Hope this helps, happy hauling

Heat not getting hot in passenger area and engine overheats

Sounds like you have a failing thermostat. However this can also be caused by a low fluid level in the radiator. When the engine is "completely" cold check the level of the fluid. Even if the overflow tank has fluid the radiator may not. Often the heater core is actually above the level of the top of the radiator and the fluid needs to be pumped UP to reach that level. If the radiator is not completely full then an air gap forms creating the lack of heat inside the vehicle.

You should start by checking the thermostat for the radiator. It controls the flow of coolant to your engine. Turning on the heater allows the coolant to circulate through another type of radiator. You should also check your radiator fluid to make sure you have enough( the fluid should be changed around every 5 years).

Heater does not work at all

check radiator fluid is full the heater operates buy the radiator fluid flowing through the heater core. next your thermostat might be stuck in the open position thus your radiator fluid not heating up on cold days - no hot radiator fluid no heat. if fan is not coming on check fuse first if fuse is good check heater fan motor

Heater stops blowing heat and temp gauge goes up! Heat blows hot again and temp gauge goes down

This is usually caused by air in the cooling system. While the engine is cool, check your fluid level in the coolant tank. Then check the radiator to make sure it is full. If both of them are full, the system has to be bled. To bleed the system, take the radiator cap off, start the engine. If there is air in the system it will bubble out and the fluid level will drop, add coolant until this stops.

Check your radiator. Theres a built-in trans fluid cooler in some models. Its possible that the cooler may be leaking into the coolant. If so, you'll need a replacement radiator.
Was there a new torque converter installed? They take quite a few quarts of fluid.
Check the tailshaft. It has a tendency to only leak (if defective) while in motion.

Hi, i have a 1992 honda accord aerodeck with the 2.2 efi engine.. My problem is that i can only get cold air :( even when the knob is turned on full wack to hot it still only blows out cold!! I replaced...

take the radiator cap off when the engine is cold check the fluid in the radiator,if necessary add fluid to the radiator not the resevoir with the motor running and with the heater on until full leave the cap off untill the motor gets up to full heat and the thermostat is open and pulls the fluid into any unfilled cavities. Add fluid as necessary.

look for a blown fuse in your engine compartment fuse box. if you dont find one there then check the fuse panel in the dash under you column. it could be one of the larger feed fuses in the engine compartment fuse box so dont overlook those.

1992 F350 Trans Blows Oil When Hot Any One Can Help ?

Check your fluid level. If a trany is over filled then the fluid will begin to foam and blow out of the vent once heated. Or you may have a overheating tranny. You can disconnect the tranny lines from the radiator and blow air through the fluid line ports on the radiator to make sure your not getting a plug. You can also purchase an external oil cooler to hook inline with the fluid ports on the radiator just make sure that when you install it to install it on the port that returns the fluid back to the tranny not the one that delivers the fluid to the radiator, in other words after the radiator not before.
