You need to check a few things there. First, make sure that the support be3aring in the rear of the crankshaft is not worn out. Second, check the transmission input shaft to make sure the disc can slide freely on the splines. Third, make sure that the input shaft bearing isn't worn, allowing the shaft to wobble. Any of those items can cause engagement problems.
Additionally, have the flywheel re-faced and do not use a rebuilt pressure plate assembly...I have seen many that have been re-machined to the point that they cannot apply full spring pressure to the disc, allowing it to slip.
Make sure you use the correct height throwout bearing. Many times there are up to three versions.
If you use one that is too long, it will continually push on the pressure plate fingers and allow some slippage.
Last, there are different grades of friction material available on discs (same as brake pads). Make sure you don't go "cheap" there or you are inviting failure.
If you are exceptionally hard on your equipment, you may do better using a street/race clutch from an aftermarket source such as scheifer or hayes. Those units are built for abuse and will last far longer than any factory items.
