Question about Cars & Trucks
My 2000 deville is overheating but the mechanic iss telling me its the fuel pump doesnt sound logical
Posted by Anonymous on
Your correct, the fuel pump only supplies a certain volumn of gas, at a specific pressure to the fuel rail. Then the computer decides how long to pulse the injectors open.
What happens in these cases,is the mechanic doesn't understand why you brought the vehicle to them. If they don't go on a road test with you driving, find a new shop.
That said, you may not understand what was explained to you. At least in simple terms ,the way you want it explained.
It's all about a two way working relationship, and you are the only one that can develop that.
Just because the gauge looks like it is overheating, doesn't necessary mean it is.
Always check, test and trouble shoot an issue first, before assuming anything
