Replace the bulbs anyway ( it's the most likely) and get a cheap electrical tester from any auto spares shop and examine all fuses (with ignition on ) and replace any dud fuses with same Amp fuse. Good luck

I have 1997 Jetta all brake lights quit working. Fuses are good bulbs look good and brake light switch looks ok could a bulb be bad and cause all three to go out?

I'd want to check voltage and ground for the stop lamps. Use a test light.
In the diagram for brake switch, the top wire is voltage, hot all the time, use a test lite to check for voltage, that circuit is fuse protected.
The lower wire in the picture goes hot when brake switch is activated and carries voltage to lamps. Like I said, the lamps need voltage and ground.

Can you show me a wiring diagram for 2001 chevy cavalier 2.2,4cyl engine

Eng light on = go to Autozone or Advance or someplace like that. They will read the code/s for you free.

Start by checking your fuses. You really have to look to find all the different diagrams. You can get an alldata subscription for just one car at a low price which should give you all the info you want. I have found the wiper motor connector and the shift solenoid wiring diagrams.

Dodge ram 1500 wiring diagram

Three places to look. 1) Brake lamp fuse, 2) Turn signal switch and 3) the brake pedal switch. Brake light power comes from the fuse up to the turn signal switch down to the brake lite switch on the brake pedal and then on to the light bulbs. Start by putting the 4 way flasher on. If the brake lites flash, then the bulbs are good. That eliminated the fuse too. so the problem is the other two.

Whats fuse number for cigarette lighter 1998 Lincoln towncar

The fuse you are looking for is in the fuse panel inside the vehicle to the left of the steering wheel down by the brake pedal. Below is a diagram of the fuse layout and I have marked the fuse you are wanting to check (number 23). Hope this helps....

My brake lights aren't working on my 97 Chevy Monte Carlo-the top center light works. Don't know which fuse to check for brake lites. I know where the box is, but don't want to check each one. HELP!!

It should only take you less than 5 minutes to look through all of the fuses. That might be easier than waiting for a diagram. If you still want one, just go to your local autozone or Advance Auto Parts, and they will have one for you. If your fuse isn't the issue, it might be your brake switch sensor.

Look in your Vehicle manual for the fuse panel diagram and check the BRK Fuse, and also the Tail light fuse. If both are good, the problem may lye in the brake light switch attached to the brake pedal.

i would look at the fuse box, and inside , it should tell you what fuse is for what, if it doesn't, i would recommend you looking it up in your owners manual.
