Question about 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
I got a car stereo with a cd player, the old one was a cassette player most all the wires match but there is two of some of the wires that are the same color. The ones that have two wires the same color are coming from the car, the plug on the stereo only has one. there is red ones, green, blue black, orange, purple, brown and different color greens and so on.
THe speaker wires from "new" radio will be in pairs ie;GREEN/ RED/ GREY / , They look like they are the same color but you will find a "tracer color" on one of the paired wires, ie plain GREEN / GREEN with a thin black stripe etc. The single Red will be Battery power the Orange will be Ign / accessory for the radio station memory. the other wires will vary but should be (possibly) panel illum/ power antenna/ aux power and ground wire . The radio will ground off the antenna connection .but should be connected at a later time . good luck .
