I had this same issue happen to me with my heating/cooling unit (among other issues with the fan speed) about 6 times. They replaced the resistor 3 times and its fine. Luckily, the first 5 occurrences were under warranty and the dealer covered the 6th fix. I'm still not happy between this problem and issues 2x with the service engine and service air bags... I only have 26k miles on this thing and bought the truck brand new in Oct 2006.

I've had the same exact problem since I bought my 2006 Silverado. Took to dealership atleast 5 times. Everytime was told worked for us or the vents were confused. Well warranty now expired, just hit 60K miles and received recall letter regarding venting system. Truck in shop all day Monday for repair, Tuesday afternoon blame back doing same thing. A/C work ok then boom only driver gets hot air. I've learned can trick sometimes by putting in park, turn off truck, restart and if lucky will be okay for next minutes/miles depending on its "confusion". On to next problem. Now emissions light on & told Large evapm leak & vent solenoid control circuit problem. **** it sucks being female sometimes!!!

temp blend door problem. either actuator motor bad, door broke inside heater box, or somthing interfearing with it closing. it could be an electrical issue w controller as well.

AC blowing hot air one side & cool air other side

If it has dual zone temp. control it is most likely the heater control panel.

Had exact same problem with my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500. Would blow hot air thru drivers vents only and sometimes if I turned truck off and restarted would blow air conditioner for a bit. Rec'd recall letter from Chevrolet in January for this problem.

2006 CHEVY COBALT OVERHEATING HAS NEW RADIATOR WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT

That is normal, it will not get hot without the thermostat. The water cools in the radiator and falls to the bottom and the bottom hose is cold. This is what cools the engine and stops it from overheating.

Cooling & heating?

as a test, restrict a good portion of front of radiator with cardboard. is the engine running at 195 degrees? if engine temp is good, verify that both heater hoses going to heater core are hot. maybe heater control valve.

My truck dosnt get hot in the cab blows warm cool air!

I would check your heater control valve, that, or the core itself being bad, are the two most common problems I've had with Chevys.

1999 1500 silverado heater

Sounds like the blend door in the ducting has failed, this door is what controls the temp of the outlet air by blending heat and outside air or AC cooled air.
