Set the odometer readout to total mileage and not to Trip A or B. Now with the ignition off, push and hold the odometer reset button in, while at the same time turning the ignition to the on position without starting the engine. The light will go out in about 5 seconds. Release the button and turn the ignition off. Your done.

Disconnect the battery for 30 secs. and then reconnect it. this will clear the ECM...and shut that light off. however, that light will come back on in about 10 mins,if you havent fixed the problem that caused it to come on in the 1st place.

What prompts the toyota highlander 2008 maint even after service

the light has to be reset you serviced the car before it was time and the light was not reset then. on the highlander im not sure how to reset it im thinking that all you have to do is turn the key to the on posistion and step on the gas pedal 3 times or you have to push the trip counter in and hold it for 15 seconds if neither one of these works take it to your service center they should be able to reset it for free.

Toyota matrix how do I get the maint required

A plug in computer reader is needed to reset the computer. Did a shop do the work? - they should know better. Take it back and have'em reset it. If you did it, then you could buy the reader (expensive) or go the way of the shop option

To reset the system. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading shown. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset knob. Hold down the knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off. If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.
