Question about 1999 Chevrolet Malibu
Check out the Passlock problem. The stinkin' car thinks it is being stolen and does not send fuel to the injectors. Nothing to do with fuel pump. This car is one of the many reasons GM went bankrupt and we taxpayers are now the "happy" owners of a **** company.

I believe that your car also has a fuel pump relay. i think that it is located under the hood drivers side in a big plastic box.
