Has your vehicle already been converted to 134a freon? If not it is R12. Don't mix.. Take to shop and have charged. Unless you are mechanically inclined and get the switch over kit.

Have a 1988 Lincoln Town Car, have put in new A/C compressor, new drier, new condenser, new hoses, new evaporator & full of freon. But compressor want cycle, what could be my problem???

If the compressor wOnt cycle, it means that the pressure is not correct. How much freon, (and what type) did you put in, and did you PULL DOWN (with vacuum) the system to about -29 inches before putting the freon in? Did you use manifold gauges? If so, what is the high pressure, and what is the low pressure, at what ambient temperature?

How to jump ac compressor

Well, I will tell you that the electric plug that is on the low pressure A/C switch will engage the compressor clutch when you put a jumper wire in the electric plug. This is done sometimes to draw in Freon to charge the system and then eliminated when there is enough Freon pressure to cause the low pressure switch to work again. Then the pressure switch will cycle as Freon pressure builds.

In no manner should any attempt be made to operate (drive) the vehicle with the switch bypassed as it will destroy the compressor and possibly melt the serpentine belt and parts will go flying. IF the system is low on Freon after 9 years a boost of Freon with sealer will help.

You need some tools with a pressure gauge for A/C. The ideal amount of Freon is what the manufacturer shows on the A/C label plus oil.

There are other tools like Vacuum pumps which take the moisture out of a system. If the system is not empty, you may be able to add Freon. Read up on this more.

Ac clutch not kicking on

ADD Freon. It's a R134 system and the pressure is too low. Trust me add Freon and it will work fine. With a low amount of Freon if you jump the low pressure switch at the accumulator it will be very cold but will not have enough pressure to kick on the low pressure switch.

Ac compressor cuts on off just had a new one put ,on is it because its low on refridgerant

It could be low on freon or it could be a bad low pressure switch located at or by the accumulator or
ac dryer, if you have a ready made gauge, it will have a gauge, hose and can of freon, it can be closed,
the can can be empty, you just want to make sure there is freon pressure at the low pressure switch. once confirmed and you know there is normal freon pressure, proceed by setting your ac to high, pull off the low pressure switch molex and connect a jumper wire across it, if the ac clutch stays engaged and
the car starts to cool, just replace the low pressure switch, you do not have to pull the freon out to replace just make sure the seal is lubricated with the correct pag oil. if you just had the compressor, replaced you could also have a freon leak. good luck!

Freon was low, the clutch would not stay in very long while trying to add the freon, I continued to put the freon in at a slow pace, after about 18 oz. the clutch did kick in and stayed in through out the...

Sounds like the freon was pretty low.The pressure readings are pretty low indicating possibly a weak compressor or freon is still low. Does this have rear ac as well?l You probably should have evacutated the system and put it into a vacuum. A very useful tool would be to inject a uv dye oil charge into the system and let it run with the ac still cycling which can still be done prior to evacuation. If there any leaks present the dye will seep out the leak and be easily detectable with a uv light.

When I put paper clip ac works but Otherwise it ...

The low pressure switch on the a/c line is at fault or you have to little freon in system to make the pressure switch work. The low pressure switch is put in the a/c line to keep you from burning up the a/c compressor. Anytime the freon fall below a certain level (pressure) then the switch will cut out to keep anything from burning up. Hope this will help you.

When you put on the A/C find out if the compressor is engaging. There are pressure switches for both too little freon or too much freon. If the compressor is not engaging there is a switch on the low pressure side close to the oblong cylinder where you put in the freon. Unplug the switch and put a jumper wire on the wire harness plug. The compressor should engage. If it does you either have too little freon or the low pressure switch is bad.

How to put freon in jaguar s-type

The compressor is located underneath the drivers area towards the front. Right beneath the compressor is the low pressure port and there's where you put your freon. You have to raise the car.. follow your owners manual for jacking... you should also use a hard jack for support since you will go a little underneath the front of the car... use alight. I recommend you get the freon 134 kit that has a pressure gage  so the you can see if the freon pressure         ( pressure high full or a problem with system ) or low and needs charging

A/C not working, not sure how to check freon. Can you help me?

first did it work last season ? if so its probably low on freon.. start by putting a can in and see if the compressor kicks on .. The compressor will not kick in if the system is low on freon..your system has a pressure switch on it which tells the comprressor when to turn on .. Remember always instal the freon in the low pressure side of the system .. This is always the LARGER hose is where you put it .. the small hose is hi pressure so stay away from it.. you can do this its really not hard..usually walmart handles what you need for this job.. and holler if you need more..
