Sway bar runs from lower suspension arm on one side of the car to the lower suspension arm of the other side. It is only visible under the car and has several attachment points. sometimes these mounts break and you will hear a clunking noise when turning. hope this helps or get back with me - not a lot of info in your question and good luck

Testimonial: "I've identified where the clunk is coming from, like you said, the worn sway bar bushings. Just wanted to know part name. Thanks!!"

remove the 2 pivot points under the car on the chassis sub frame . Disconnect the rods at either end of the sway bar at the rubbers . I would get all new rubbers for the sway bar and pivots before reassembly. Sway bars normally do not break as they are spring steel so it may have been weak or rubbing on a pivot from a missing rubber

7585000029_large.jpg Sway bars are installed by removing your factory end links and sway bar. Re-install the new bushings and position your new sway bar on the vehicle in the OEM location and secure it with the same bolts.

How do you replace sway bars on a 1995 olds 88 royale?

you will need to disconnect the sway bar from the sway bar links(in most cases you might as well replace the links as well since they may snap while trying to remove them). You will then remove the sway bar bushing caps 2 bolts on each of the 2 caps and lower the sway bar. Is the bar cracked? should not require replacing if it isn't cracked. the rubber bushings and links do wear over time and yes the bar can crack.

Install rear sway bar

a sway bar is usually u shaped and hooks to the body and the tops of the u hook to the axle with links that have bushings. most jeeps dont have a rear sway bar.the panhard bar is the rod that goes from one side of the axle to the body on the opposite side. its sometimes mistakenly called sway bar. it keeps the body from moving side to side around corners. then there are the torque bars they keep the axle from trying to rotate when accelerating.
none of this would be real expensive but if its been lifted a bunch then you may have problems

Replacing sway bar. cannot get new sway bar to propper position. how do i get it to fit propperly?

Your old sway bar made of tubular steel. New sway bar made from solid steel. You have a frame under engine the sway bar attaches too. This frame also supports your engine and trans mounts. Follow frame and there are 4 bolts securing same. Mechanic I watched supported engine underneath. Loosen back bolts though not removed. (please note sway bar has arrow that bar can only go in one direction) This maybe your problem. Attach bar to frame and fitting's. Best if you raise front end and remove both tires. Good luck

Front sway bar link kit, what is the order of installation. all my bushings are rotted away.

Remove the sway bar links from lower control arms. Replace the sway bar mount to frame bushings first. Then install sway bar link bushings. Note how they come apart and install in the same manner.

Trying to put sway bar bushings in the sway bar on 1991 chevrolet k5 or full size blazer where the sway bar bolts to the top of the spring pack and can not figure it out

ok you have me confused? Your sway bar should be attached to your frame and your "LOWER CONTROL ARMS" via sway bar bushings.

How do i find a diagram showing my front end sway bar bushings?

The sway bar bushings are under the large clamps that hold the bar to the frame. The ends of the sway bar are connected to the struts by the sway bar links. When the links wear out, they clunk--not squeak. The bushings are under the retainer in the pic below.
