What does that mean? Basically this means that the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter on bank 2 is detecting that the converter is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions system.
FB.init("dd7d9e9681341cde77587bc6a2029f6f"); OBD-Codes.com on Facebook Symptoms You will likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a rough/hard idle when cold.
Causes A code P0430 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • The catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
  • An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
  • There is an exhaust leak
Possible Solutions First, inspect for exhaust leaks.
Next step is to measure the voltage at the oxygen sensor on Bank 2. In fact, it would be a good idea to test each oxygen O2 sensor while you're at it.
One thing to note is that many vehicle manufacturers offer a longer warranty on emissions-related parts. So if you have a newer car but it's out of it's bumper-to-bumper warranty, there still may be warranty on this type of problem. Many manufacturers give a five year, unlimited mileage warranty on these items. It's worth checking into.

If it is the O2 sensor you will not get a code just the code that you have now.

How to check the o2 sensor.

    Step 1

Locate the oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold and unplug the wiring harness.

  • Step 2
Use the appropriate sized socket for the ratchet to remove the oxygen sensor by unscrewing it from the manifold.

  • Step 3
Mount the oxygen sensor in the vise and then connect the negative voltmeter lead to the case of the sensor and the positive lead to the sensor output wire.

  • Step 4
Light the propane torch and heat the fluted or perforated area of the sensor. Voltage should shoot up to 0.6 or higher within 20 seconds of heating. If you see the increase in voltage, remove the flame and watch for a drop to under 0.1 seconds. If you do not see the fluctuation in voltage, the sensor is probably fouled. If the sensor is displaying the differences in voltage, move on to step 3.

  • Step 5
Heat the perforated section of the sensor for two full minutes and watch for drops in voltage. Sometimes the connections will open up under heat and act the same as a loose wire. If the sensor fails this "two minute test" then it needs replaced. However, if it does not have sharp fluctuations in voltage under constant heat and it shows a difference in voltage with the addition/removal of heat, then the sensor is fine and can be remounted in the engine by reversing Step 1.

  • You can also switch the 2 O2 sensors on the exhaust to see if the cood follows to bank one.

Best to have a complete rebuild. The transmission will need to be torndown to the point that it would not be in your best interest to not rebuild it. They can take it all the way apart and inspect everything. then you will not have any suprises plus you will have a warranty. Partial fixes mean a partial warranty or no warranty.

How do i fix code po420 & po430 on 2003 jaguar

Both these codes relate to Catalyst efficiency below threshold on banks 1+2. This is normally caused by a combustion fault. This fault may be shown due to a faulty sensor in either air imput or exhaust systems, Get the memory read at a dealers or good garage. If you had a serious problem the car would not drive well.
Hope this helps - good luck.
