Does the temp gauge go up and down periodically? if it does this means your thermostat is not opening properly at the correct temperature. Even if it shows its hot, you"ll get cool air out of your heater because that water hasn't gone through the engine yet. First you must let car cool down to the touch two to three hours..FILL UP RADIATOR if low, then start it up and feel the upper radiator hose, it should not have any fluid flowing through it, but when a car warms up after ten minutes and you hear you "fan" come on put hand on the hose again, and it should feel Hot and fluid will be flowing through it.. and give it a squeeze also, you should feel a slight back pressure,(this means the water pump is working), if its not getting hot let car cool down and replace thermostat. once you've done this, then top off system again if it needs it, and warm up engine, and now check every single coolant line..sometimes its the smaller heater lines that have pinhole leaks.. check specifically near the firewalls. hope this fixes it for you.

Why does my 2000 Monte Carlo blow cold air then goes into overheating mode. then it will blow warm when it wants to and temp gauge is normal.

you are either:
1. low on antifreeze
2. have air trapped in the system (raise rear end while adding coolant!)
3. your thermostat and/or temp sending unit needs replacement

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cheokee and it is overheating when I idol and when I idol the heater is not blowing cold air. It will blow warm air while I am driving down the road. What do you think could be...

Check the cooling fan motor and of course the fluid level. If the temp is changing thru the heater it could just be low on coolant , leaking from ? Two wheel drive have an elecrtic cooling fan only, make sure its spinning up when temp is 3/4. If not its probably the fan motor. Can be checked with a test light .

Driver's side air blowing warm, won't change

Sounds like there is a crack in the vent that leads to the drivers side, and hot air from the engine is leaking through.

Heater blows cold air from top vents after running for 1.3 hours

Sounds like you may be able to fix it by flushing your antifreeze and back flushing the heater core. Some car owners cheep out and put stop leak into the antifreeze, others dont change there antifreeze at all. Both are mistakes.

2001 Suzuki XL-7. Heater blows hot one side, cold the other.

No ductwork [to the lower vents] under the dash. They are part of the heater core / blower housing is integrated (all one piece).

After reviewing shop manual, we suspect that one of the three damper flaps is not positioning correctly; or debris has blocked one side (which makes more sense given the symptoms).

We're waiting for the temperatures to get back in the plus numbers to check out the physical arrangement.

Fully warmed up; blowing hot and cold; Suzuki XL-7

Its just a vent damper plate not operating, it's like a gate which controls the flow of air,,usually they are operated by vacuum, or cables.
Service center time, unless you are handy with your own repairs.
