Question about 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Turn flashers on...do the lights both flash? when you select left position does the turn indicator show that it is on...just not flashing? then clean up sockets and inspect/replace bulbs...sometimes i just find loose and dirty connections. But a marginal bulb will cause this problem also..works good for awhile when car is cool, but after it get hot then it gets intermittent.

Check the front and rear bulb while trying to get it to blink. I think you will find one of your bulbs is or has gone bad.

Generally, if a bulb has failed or is making only poor contact, the blink rate will increase since the standard blinker relay uses a thermal strip heated by current flow to the bulbs and when it is too low, it blinks rapidly and briefly.
You still have the front bulbs to check and maybe pulling the fuse for that circuit and plugging it back in might remove some corrosion from the blades.
The flasher relay is probably OK since this would affect both sides.
