Sounds like you have bad gas...probably water mixed in. if you see a fuel truck making a delivery at the station the mixing of the fuel pumped into the tank can stir up the sediment and water in the bottom of the storage tank...it is a better idea to move on to another gas station ...some 'no name' stations have poor maintenance and can get consistent 'bad' gas' problems...something to think about.

put a fuel additive that clears water in gas and drive out the fuel you have...at about half a tank fill up with high quality fuel and more fuel additive...otherwise drain your fuel tank and clear your fuel lines.

in addition to my other comment: clearing your fuel lines includes changing the fuel filter...your truck should have an electric fuel pump so if you pull off the fuel line before the throttle body and then connect a length of fuel line about 4 foot long to the line coming from the fuel tank and put the other end in a gas can then turn the ignition key to "on" and the fuel pump will pump out the tank for you.

Cannot determine from the description of the problem if rewiring power to pump resolved the loss of the electrical power or not. Now when it dies, is there still a loss of electrical power? If there is still a loss of electrical power, ensure that the new wiring is connected to the 'Engine Switched' side of the power system. In other words, only when the engine is turned on, power is applied to the fuel pump. If power is good, mostly likely there is a clog in the fuel system (lines) between the pump and the fuel injectors. It doesn't necessarily mean trash was sucked out of tank, today's ethanol gas can trash a fuel system from the inside out. Being a 1990...vehicles back then were less compatible with ethanol. If pump has power and running, fuel lines may need a good flush (multiple flushes maybe to get it all). When it quits, a simple pressure test at the injectors may help determine if fuel is getting to engine. Keep it simple...walk the dog. Make sure you've got good pressure at pump, follow fuel line hand over hand to the next connection, test pressure again, keep going until you find loss of pressure. Good luck...these type of problems are not fun to troubleshoot, not difficult either, just time consuming.

Ford1504x4 1990 5.o my truck runs like it is lossing power. i put bosh plugs and excel wires with cap and rotor. egr check out ok. it sometimes POPS when i step on the gas and acts like it its running out...

Check fuel pressure at fuel rail. Must have 45-50 PSI. There is also a fuel pump on the frame before the engine and after the fuel tanks. POPING occurs with lean fuel mixture or crossed plug wires.

Fuel pump rset button

No, there is no RESET button. SOMETIMES when you run out of gas, the fuel pump will continue running DRY ( no fuel ) until the engine quits ( losses oil pressure ) which shuts off the fuel pump. Unfortunately this causes the fuel pump to burn out. Most probably needs replacement. Test for power to the fuel pump. Hope this helps.
