Then you must replace blowed fuse for driver's side high beam headlamp = Fuse nr.19, (for Left Hand Drive vehicle) - F19 (10A/15A) LH headlamp - high beam.
(Fuse nr.18 - F18 (10A/15A) = RH headlamp - high beam).
That's all.

For VW Beetle the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

One low beam head lights will not work, high beam works though

check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse

My passenger side low beam headlight is out. the driver side low beam headlight works fine. I replaced the bulb and the headlight still doesn't work. What should I look at next?

Check the fuse. There are seperate fuses for right and left. You dont mention if the high beam works for that side? If it does, the fuse is good. The GREEN wire at the bulb is the ground for the low beam. If that wire has power, then the ground is bad. If the high beam works, the hi'lo beam switch is good, and there is a problem between that headlight and the Engine Compartment Junction Block

Drivers side low beam is out but high beam works fine

Sounds like a bad bulb or connector to the bulb. I would check the connector make sure its not burnt or melted and then change the bulb.

Driver side headlight is out, high beam works

Neither low beam works. Both high beams are fine. Any idea as to what the low beam problem is? Prior to this, the driver side low beam would not come on unless I hit the bulb. The right was okay. Now neither low beam works.
