This is a lot of work to repair a 25 year old car.

If you insist, get the part ... drain and remove your gas tank. Using a brass (non-sparking) punch to remove the access hole cover - and replace the sender according to the directions you will get with the sender unit.

Frankly, you will do better to fill the tank based on every 200 miles of driving. And, there is little danger of blowing yourself to smithereens using this method.

Check the fuse and relay switch for the instrument cluster, which includes the fuel gauge. if they are okay, and no check engine light comes on,then the float in the gas tank, which gives you your reading,is stuck and needs replaced.

My1986 nissan 300zx turbo digital dash does not work. The RPM gage works and the battery charge indicator work. Everything thing else is lit with zero's and gas gauge blinks E. If I recall this ca

my guess is that since you hit a bump in the road that its possible that a plug has come loose from the back of the dash.. remove instrument cluster and inspect for loose or broken wiring and connectors..

I am having a problem with my oil pressure... my guage which is not a dummy light, keeps dropping to like 1 kg per sq. inch when normally at 120kps i'm doing 3000rpm and the oil guage reads at around 3.7...

Don't get too concerned yet. Take it to the shop and let them scew in a well know mechanic's gage to make sure that the sensor isn't giving you a bad signal. That would be the first place to check.

1985 Nissan 300zx will crank, run, and diesel until it dies

YOUR problem is you have water in the engine as that is the only thing you can get apart from brake fluid that can cause white smoke OR steam out the exhaust or white steam out of the breather so check the dip stick it should have water beeds on with the oil or if you take off the filler cap it will have white oil on it,, so then drain sump and fit new filter and refill with 20W 50 and away you go..Have a goodday Ron

Adjustible Suspention/ fule gage

For the fuel gauge, get a new fuel sending unit and replace the existing one, since it appears to have died (not all that uncommon). For the oil pressure, my 90 300ZX TT had a problem there too, and it was the oil pressure sending unit. Both parts are available at a wide variety of places, and neither is terribly expensive.

As for the suspension, I'm not sure what you mean by the "other lights" flashing - which other lights? Is the car stuck in Touring or Sport mode on the shocks, or does it change when it wants to, or does it not change at all?
