2003 Ford Explorer XLT Wants To Stall At Low Idle,, especially when at a stop light

How does it idle in park , does it run ruff or smooth? Are any lights lit on the dash , check engine etc. ? Could have a partially plugged IAC air passage .idle air control (IAC) valve ! The engine computer uses the IAC to control idle , when under a load such as when put into gear the computer raises the idle ! It does this by allowing more air to by pass the closed throttle into the engine raising the idle ! If these air passages clog they restrict the air flow an cause a idle problem ! Now if it runs ruff at idle in park you could have vacuum leak ! Rough Idle How to Fix Ford Taurus Engine Stalls at Stop Signs

Car will not idle

I suspect that your fuel system is faulty. Check for a clogged fuel filter, or if your fuel pump don't run at all, replace the "fuel pump relay". Sometimes your fuel pump will run, but be too weak to hold pressure, which will let your car idle somewhat, but be too weak to run the engine at speed or under load

1994 ford ranger idle fine under load it stalls and brakes are not working.

Are you saying the booster is not working, and if so that would mean there is a vac leak somewhere ?

I have A 95 Astro that has A new Fuel Pump and Filter that was replaced 3 months ago.. I replaced the brake fuse and it will start run ,but it died so as I give it any gas.. Is this the fuel reg??

Check your fuel pressure at idle and under a load, if there is a fluxuation greater than 2lbs you should check for a bad fuel filter and then the pump return line.

Idle fluxuates at warm up..has no power and feels like it will stall ...to compensate for the low idle..the idle will rise too 2grand and then blow out smoke from the tailpipe...

just to be cautious, after warm up, check your exhaust system for any components that are red hot. if so, that is your catalytic converter and will need to be replaced. it sounds like you have a mass air flow sensor issue. have the vehicle scanned for codes and let me know what they find. cheers

99 cabrio starts ok but dies when idling at stop light, hesitates under load sometimes also. intermittant idle fluxuation.

My first guess would be a bad idle air control valve if an inspection shows nothing apparent.

Stalls at idle no fluxuation in voltage at iac

It is most likely the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.
The valve is supposed to close when the car is idling and open other wise.

Inspect it / Replace it.

Hope this helps!

Idle s 2300rpm when cold, then revs between 1500-2000, while..

maybe vacuum leak or intake manifold leak. sounds like components are doing there job adjusting to air intake, matching the amount of air brought in with the amount of fuel that it would demand to produce correct emmission quality. check this out. you can use carb cleaner to spray around your throttlebody and intake manifold and if the engine idle fluxuates you have a leak.
