Question about 2002 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

My 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP is hard starting when it's cold. The dash lights dim & go out, the clock is reset to 1:00, and I have to pump the gas hard and fast just to get it to turn over and start. Once it starts it runs great. It will also restart fine when it's warm. What could be wrong with my car? Thanks for your help.

Check the battery terminal connections. You can also get a free electrical system test done at Advance Auto.

Are all fuel pumps from 97 Pontiac grand prix compatible with fuel pump for a 97 Pontiac grand prix GTP super

No.
The only pump that will work in a GTP model is the pump for that model. And there are more than one tag number for the GTP.
Flow rates can be anything between 20 and 60 GPM.
You have to match the tag code for your car.

2002 grand prix heater whines when turning on the heat. Now no noise, but the blower is not pushing heat out the vents. What could this be?

I would say your motor went out and the door under the dash is not opening. Follow cable and or vacuum lines . If you have a hand vacuum pump try pumping on the vacuum actuators to see if doors move or if cable is opening doors after you replace motor

Would replacing a power steering pump in a 2002 Grand Prix GTP Supercharger cause the SuperCharger belt to break.

No.

The supercharger belt is on the main drive, the water pump is on the accessory drive. Provided that they are both properly installed of course.
